Why does the self-adhesive label always curl up in winter?

2023-09-08

In winter, some end users store stickers in warehouses without heating, and the temperature in the warehouse is often below zero degrees Celsius, with almost no difference from the natural environment temperature. If the self-adhesive label is stored in this low-temperature environment, its adhesive fluidity will sharply decrease, resulting in a sharp decrease in viscosity. In this case, if labeling is carried out immediately, the label can easily warp or even fall off after being applied to the bottle body. Many label printing companies have received complaints from customers about low stickiness and warping of labels during winter, which is actually the main reason for this. So, how can we solve this problem? It's actually quite simple. Label printing companies need to communicate with end users in advance to store the labels in a warehouse with heating as much as possible. In principle, the storage temperature of self-adhesive labels should not be lower than 15 ℃. If the storage conditions for end users are difficult to achieve, at least 24 hours before labeling, the labels should be placed in a relatively warm environment, and the stickiness of the self-adhesive labels should be restored before labeling.
